Public Bank Lao Limited (Public Bank Lao) is a wholly owned banking subsidiary of Public Bank Berhad. Public Bank Lao is incorporated after obtaining approval from the Bank of Lao PDR (BOL) to transfer and upgrade the banking operations of Public Bank Berhad overseas branches into a foreign owned local bank.

For information, Public Bank Berhad (PBB) is the largest non-Government linked banking group from Malaysia. PBB is one of the first foreign banks to commence its overseas branch operations in Lao PDR on 18 December 1995. With 28 years of banking track records in Lao PDR, PBB has 4 branches in Lao PDR, with 2 branches in Vientiane and one each in Savannakhet and Pakse.

Public Bank Lao’s Banking License with reference No.33/BOL was issued by BOL on 21 November 2023. Public Bank Lao officially commence business with effect from 1 January 2024 with banking hours remaining unchanged i.e. Monday – Friday at 8:45 AM to 4:15 PM.

Public Bank Lao has its Head Office in Vientiane Capital and maintains the 4 existing branches located in the cities as mentioned above.
